Latest COVID-19 updates:
• New Centers for Disease Control issued a guidance saying older adults should 'stay at home as much as possible;'
• Gov. Cuomo declares State of Emergency in New York;
• Cuomo says the risk to general public overall remains low.
As of March 7 there are 76 confirmed cases in New York, including two in Saratoga County. One woman with the illness in Saratoga County had been in contact with a person from Pennsylvania who has tested positive at a conference in Miami, Cuomo said. The governor also said that large gatherings will not be canceled at this point, but that may have to happen in Rockland and Westchester counties. Cuomo also said that, "we are cracking down on price gouging which continues to be a problem, and I want businesses to be aware that you could lose your license because we are very serious about this." Complaints about price gouging can be reported at 800-697-1220. Amtrak canceled nonstop Acela train service between Washington D.C. and New York City due to coronavirus. National reports indicate there have only been slightly over 2,100 tests in the entire United States since officials became aware of the illness.
