Photo by Sam Sebren."][/caption]About 300 people from New York and Pennsylvania gathered in Albany Monday, May 2 to hear 22 speakers in front of the State Capitol talk about their wish to ban hydraulic fracturing natural gas drilling in New York. Speakers included State Senators Tony Avella and Liz Kruger, and Assemblyman William Colton, sponsors of NY bill 4220 that seeks to ban the practice completely in the state. Other speakers included farmers, activits, high school students, biologist Dr. Sandra Steingraber, "Gasland" film director Josh Fox, and others.
