Richard Moody reports for Columbia-Greene Media that New Lebanon's $1.7 million preliminary budget for 2018 will not exceed the tax cap. Proposed spending is currently at $50,172 less than in 2017, with the tax levy higher in 2018 at $1.043,316 than 2017's $1,042,888. The town included an additional $51,000 to renovate basketball courts at Shatford Park next year. The budget also includes $5,865 for New Lebanon’s 200th anniversary celebration.
