Kinderhook's Chris Gibson is the latest Republican announced to challenge Democrat Congressman Scott Murphy in New York’s 20th Congressional District election later this year. Gibson, a Colonel in the U.S. Army who served in the first Iraq war and Kosovo, made his announcement Saturday afternoon at the Winding Brook Country Club in Valatie, hosted by former Republican candidate for governor and personal friend John Faso. Burnt Hills' Patrick Ziegler, Saratoga Springs lawyer David Harper, and Queensbury Supervisor Dan Stec have also announced their desire to be the Republican nominee.
