Bernadette Hogan reports for the New York Post that Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his staff were incensed by Mike Bloomberg's assertion at the Democratic presidential debate Feb. 25 that he got same-sex marriage approved in New York. Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa tweeted immediately after the statement during the debate: “I’m sorry, Mayor Bloomberg, WHO got gay marriage passed through a republican senate in NY? Oh that’s right, it was Andrew Cuomo." The governor was less direct the next day. "I didn’t know New York City passed a law that allowed marriage equality,” Cuomo said. Democrats passed the same-sex equality measure in 2011 with just four votes from Republicans in the state Senate. Bloomberg donated $1 million to the Republicans state Senate’s campaign account around that time. Read more about this story in the New York Post.
