Greene County clears solar proposal

Jim Planck reports in The Daily Mail that the Greene County Solar Array in Cairo completed its Environmental Assessment Form, and will not have a significant impact on the environment. The proposed 2,200-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system would go on 9.7 acres behind the county’s Emergency Services Center on Mountain Avenue in Cairo, with three and a half acres of woodland needing to be cleared. “The project results in a net energy gain from a renewable source of power,” Greene County Principal Planner Ed Diamante said, “and is a positive impact on the environment.” Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
