Emilia Teasdale is reporting in The Columbia Paper the Ichabod Crane Board of Education has voted to extend a tax exemption for veterans of the Cold War whose primary residence is in the district, and served in the military from 1945 through 1991. Ichabod Crane is one of several school districts in Columbia County to approve the exemption after already approving an exemption for combat veterans. District Business Manager Michael Brennan said 38 district residents are eligible for the exemption, which would change assessments for all other district residents by .04 percent.
