Greene County residents can take hazardous waste to the Greene County Highway Department at 67 Scott Lane in Athens on June 18. This is not a collection of electronics waste, but for paints, oil, pool chemicals, cleaning products, fluorescent bulbs, and other hazardous liquids. The collection is from 8 a.m. until noon, but Greene County residents are asked to come by last name, with A-G arriving before 9 a.m., H-N before 10 a.m., O-T before 11 a.m., and S-Z before noon.
