State to streamline rules for hunting, fishing licensure
Mar 26, 2013 6:16 am
Rick Karlin reports at Capitol Confidential the new state budget has some good news for hunters and anglers. Namely, regulations for hunting and fishing licenses have been streamlined. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and the Legislature have agreed to simplify the process, hoping to bolster tourism, by attracting outside money to the state and keeping New York money in New York. Among the changes: The state will reduce the number of licenses and types, while maintaining current privileges; eliminate various combination licenses; reduce licensing fees; and change the license year to begin Sept. 1. The proposal would become effective Feb. 1, 2014. Read the full post at Capitol Confident, a Times Union blog.
