Allegiant Air adding new flights from Stewart International to Georgia, Florida
MidHudson News is reporting Allegiant Air is scheduled to start operating flights between New York Stewart International Airport and Savannah, Georgia, beginning Wed., May 26. Flights were scheduled to begin in 2020, but were delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Service will be non-stop to Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. Allegiant was the only airline serving Stewart that maintained its service throughout the pandemic and that deserves special recognition, said Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus. “Allegiant is our MVP because they never stopped service. A lot of Orange County and Hudson Valley residents continued to use them during the pandemic and I hear nothing but positive reviews from people who fly [with] them,” he said. On June 13, Allegiant will add another Florida city to its Stewart routes, offering flights to Destin-Forth Walton Beach Airport. The airline already flies to Orlando-Sanford, Tampa-St. Pete, and Punta Gorda-Ft. Myers. Allegiant also flies from Stewart to Myrtle Beach. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
