Casey Seiler reports in Capitol Confidential that former Congressperson Chris Gibson’s book “Rally Point: Five Tasks to Unite the Country and Revitalize the American Dream” will be in stores Oct. 3 from the Twelve publishing house. The book, “looks past the 2016 election, past the finger pointing and conventional political thinking, to focus on clear, primary principles that conservatives must debate and defend to protect the future of America,” according to promotional materials. Gibson, a former Army colonel and Republican from Kinderhook, held to his self-imposed term limit, briefly flirted with running for governor in 2018, and then took up a job teaching leadership at Williams College last year.
