Aug 21, 2020 6:00 am
Sarah Trafton is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media the Greene County Sheriff's Department is looking into the idea of restoring the county's former firearms training site in Cairo. Greene County Sheriff Pete Kusminsky discussed the proposal with lawmakers at the August meeting of the Legislature's Public Safety Committee as the controversy over allowing law enforcement training at the Sheepdog Warrior Shooting Range in Catskill continues. The county sheriff's office was among the departments that used the range, located on Haines Road, before town Code Enforcement Officer Elliott Fishman cited the facility for a violation nearly two years ago.
