Hunter-Tannersville wins Odyssey world title

Jim Planck reports in The Daily Mail Hunter-Tannersville Central School District is the new Odyssey of the Mind World Champion. After making its way through regional and state contests, competing against 39 teams nationwide, the five-member team successfully completed the world finals held at Michigan State University last week. Hunter-Tannersville battled three teams from South Korea, two from Singapore and from Mexico and Poland, as well, to take the world crown. Superintendent Dr. Patrick Darfler-Sweeney said Tues, May 29, he is both very happy for the district and extremely proud of the team. “I’m ecstatic,” he said. Odyssey of the Mind team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretations of literary classics.
