Haley Britzky reports at Axios that Rep. Chris Collins, who represents western New York, was arrested on charges tied to securities fraud Aug. 8. Collins surrendered himself to the FBI Aug. 8, and is being charged along with his son, Cameron Collins, and and his son's fiancée's father, Stephen Zarsky. Collins is on the Board of Directors of the Australian biotech company Innate Immunotherapeutics Limited, and the charges are related to that company. A Collins attorney released a statement that read, ""We will answer the charges filed against Congressman Collins in Court and will mount a vigorous defense to clear his good name. ... We are confident he will be completely vindicated and exonerated." Read the full story at the Axios website.
