Chatham schools appoint new superintendent

Kate Seckinger is reporting in the Chatham Courier the Chatham Board of Education has chosen Salvatore DeAngelo as the district's next superintendent. DeAngelo will replace current Superintendent Cheryl Nuciforo on July 1. DeAngelo holds a doctorate in educational leadership from the Esteves School of Education at the Sage Graduate School, and a master’s degree in business education from Norwich University. He comes to the job with a significant technology background, having served in various tech-related positions within the Schenectady City School District, including technology services coordinator, project director and manager of technical services. “I am truly looking forward to this opportunity to continue the excellent programs that already exist in Chatham and finding ways to make our school even stronger,” DeAngelo said. Board President Melony Spock said the board was confident DeAngelo was the right person for the job and that he would lead the Chatham district "in providing the best possible education for the students...."
