Women’s health center expands surgical services

Adam Clayton is reporting in the Register Star Columbia Memorial Women’s Health has expanded the surgical services it offers. The formal, ribbon-cutting ceremony for the minimally invasive surgery center was held Wed., Feb. 12. Members of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and Columbia Memorial Hospital staff were in attendance. The center has been fully operational for eight months, according to hospital CEO Jay Cahalan. The creation of the surgery center was spearheaded by Dr. Edward Marici, and it now offers a variety of laparoscopic gynecological surgeries, focusing on pelvic conditions. Marici said it is the only treatment center of its kind in both Columbia and Greene counties. Read the full story in the Register Star.
