46th Senate District race heads to court
Nov 28, 2012 1:00 am
Jimmy Vielkind reports at Capitol Confidential Republican George Amedore maintained a lead of slightly more than 100 votes over Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk (KAT-chik) in the 46th Senate District race late Tues., Nov. 27. There are still roughly 875 ballots legally challenged by the campaigns which will be considered in Montgomery County Supreme Court beginning Thurs., Nov. 29. Most of the disputed ballots were from Ulster County and the objections were initiated by Republicans. Republicans also objected to more than half of the ballots laid aside in Greene County. The contest will determine control of the state Senate. The 46th Senate District includes all of Montgomery and Greene counties, and parts of Albany, Schenectady and Ulster counties.
