Red Hook building inspector charged with bribery, official misconduct

MidHudson News is reporting the town of Red Hook building inspector and zone and code enforcement officer has been arrested for bribery, two counts of coercion and official misconduct. John Fenton, 55, of Wappinger is charged with acting in his official capacity at the time he allegedly broke the law. Fenton, formerly served as a Wappinger Town Board member. He was arrested after state police received a complaint. Police did not disclose the specifics of the charges. The investigation is ongoing.
