Site for new Pine Haven facility could be moved

Nathan Mayberg reports in the Register Star the potential construction site for a new Pine Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility could be relocated, Columbia County officials said Wed., July 24. The new building could be located next to the existing building, north of the facility’s parking lot, close to county Route 217 in Claverack. The original proposal was to construct the new building further up a hill on the site. That would plan would require spanning a ravine by building a bridge, constructing a road and clearing trees. The cost of the project is estimated to be $40 million. Read the full story in the Register Star.
