Independence Day events scheduled for Mon., Jul. 4:

Cairo hosts its annual July 4 fireworks display at sunset in Angelo Canna Park behind Main St.

The Clermont State Historic Site will host its annual Old-Fashioned Independence Day Festival beginning at 2 p.m. A live reading of the Declaration of Independence will take place at 6 p.m. Information is available at the Clermont State Historic Site’s Facebook page.

The Kinderhook People's Parade is the only local parade that allows everyone to participate. Line up is in Rothermel Park; parade steps off at 11:30 a.m. It heads up Route 9 to the village square, where the ceremony takes place.

In Delaware County, the Margaretville Fire Department hosts its second fireworks display at the Field Day celebration.

The Saugerties parade will step off at 11 a.m. from Washington Avenue near Saugerties High School. It will make it way through the village and end at Cantine Field. Fireworks will be held at dusk.

The annual Wawarsing/Ellenville parade steps off at noon, on Canal Street in the village. Fireworks will follow at dusk at the Joseph Y. Resnick Airport.

Windham celebrates with a Main Street festival starting at 2 p.m., a parade at 7 p.m. and fireworks from Windham Mountain at 9 p.m.
