CBS 6 in Albany is reporting a Tornado Watch is now in effect for the Capital District and surrounding areas. A tornado watch has been issued for most of the region until 11 p.m., tonight (Fri., Jun. 12). The counties under the watch are: Columbia, Greene, Albany, Fulton, Herkimer, Saratoga, Ulster, Montgomery, Schenectady, Warren, Dutchess, Hamilton, Rensselaer, Schoharie and Washington. Conditions are such where strong to severe thunderstorms will develop late in the afternoon and into the evening. Damaging winds are possible along with the possibility of a tornado or two.
