Olana Partnership names new president

The Daily Freeman is reporting Sean Sawyer has been appointed the Washburn and Susan Oberwager President of The Olana Partnership, effective Mon., May 18. Sawyer will serve as operational leader for The Olana Partnership’s staff, programs and mission. He most recently served as executive director of The Royal Oak Foundation, the American partner of the National Trust of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. He was executive director of the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum in Brooklyn from 2001 to 2007. Sawyer replaces interim president Rena Zurofsky. Zurofsky served as interim president following the retirement of Sara Griffen in December. Wave Farm's WGXC and The Olana Partnership will co-present a third iteration of the award-winning exhibition event "Groundswell," Sept. 19 on the grounds of the Olana State Historic Site in Greenport.
