Hayes and Ryan face off again in Ulster Co. executive race

MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting Republican-Conservative candidate Jack Hayes will challenge Ulster County Executive Patrick Ryan in November. The Hayes-Ryan match-up is a rematch of the special election held earlier this year to fill the vacancy created when Michael Hein was made a commissioner in the Cuomo administration. Ryan is running on the Democrat, Independence and Working Families Party lines. Since the special election, county voters have neither heard or seen anything from Hayes, but county GOP Chairman Roger Rascoe believes Hayes will do well in the general election. Hayes is a former county legislator, Gardiner town supervisor and a retired member of the State Police. Ryan, a former Army intelligence officer, was a director of defense technology firm Second Front Systems and was a 2016 Democratic congressional primary candidate.
