The first tour of the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse is on Saturday, July 13th. Additional tours will be offered on the second Saturday of the month with departures from either Hudson or Athens public boat launches on August 10; September 14; and October 12, 2019. Departure times from Hudson are: 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m.; and from Athens: 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Located in the middle of the Hudson River between the Village of Athens and the City of Hudson, the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse was built in 1874 (then called the “Hudson Light”) to guide ships safely around the Middle Ground Flats.
