The Roe Jan Library welcomes the second installation of the New Farmer Narrative Project Journeys Into Farming exhibit with an opening event, which will include a talk by the creators of the project, a guest appearance by The Greenhorns showcasing their new book “Greenhorns: 50 Dispatches from the New Farmers’ Movement,” and a Q&A with new farmers in the area. The exhibit features 20 new farmers who have started or taken over farms in Columbia County in the last 10 years, and will be visiting the Roe Jan Library June 3-June 18 before traveling to other libraries and venues throughout the county this spring, summer, and fall. The exhibit is based on interviews conducted by the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program in 2012, and highlights the stories and experiences of new farmers in their own words.
