U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and New York State Sen. Cecilia Tkaczyk will hold a roundtable with local women farmers. The discussion will focus on the challenges local farmers face and how the federal and state governments can better support their efforts. The conversation will feature the New York State Beginning Women Farmers Program, a grassroots organization working to enhance the role of women in agriculture. Gillibrand is the first New York senator to serve on the Senate Agriculture Committee in 40 years. Tkaczyk is the only active farmer in the state Senate.
