The East Chatham Fire Company, Inc. hosts and co-sponsors an Amateur ‘Ham’ Radio licensing course with the Rip Van Winkle Amateur Radio Society. The FCC licensing exam will be given after the course, at 5 p.m. on May 16. There is no fee for the course but a textbook is required and purchase of that textbook is the responsibility of the student. The text book is “The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual, Third Edition, Level 1, Technician.” This book is available on-line from many sources but the best avenue for purchase is probably www.arrl.org.
