Theatre Junction is a bilingual multidisciplinary live art ensemble based in Montreal, Canada. Led by co-artistic directors Mark Lawes and Raphaële Thiriet, the company explores differences, manufactured and natural environments, and real and virtual worlds. Their newest creation, Outside / In, is inspired by the logic of the panopticon–a prison designed by architect Jeremy Bentham in the 17th century that remains relevant to today's social media society. Theatre Junction is in residence at EMPAC Studio 1—Goodman to develop final staging for the production. Audience members are invited to this free in-progress showing that will include moving through a built environment and opportunities to interact with a mix of in-person live performers and live streamed moving-image elements.
