Trumpeter-composer Arthur Brooks is one of the unsung heroes of the new music. In his 40+ year career he has collaborated with such legendary figures as Bill Dixon, Cecil Taylor, Sonny Sharrock, and Alan Silva. For over 20 years he taught alongside Dixon in the Black Music Division at Bennington College. Blacklight Lighthouse builds up layers of sound using loops, effects and samples. The video imagery has been compiled from our collection of digital footage and photos taken while traveling and while going about our daily lives; which are short recordings surfaces of light, color and movement, they become a journal of organic, hypnotic, psychedelic moments occurring in our every day lives. Parashi has been releasing material since 2010; its sole member is Mike Griffin. He is also a member of Burnt Hills, Urkas, and Mensheviks. Additionally, Parashi has collaborated on releases with Rambutan, Fossils from the Sun, and Belltone Suicide; Parashi has also collaborated with poet Bill Shute, 1983, and CASE. http://www.soundcloud.com/arthurbrooksensemblev https://vimeo.com/88696308 https://soundcloud.com/parashi
