The fourth annual sourdough bread-baking competition at Dewey Hall on Friday, March 14th! Local home bakers will showcase their skills, offering a fun culinary experience for all. Sourdough bread, dating back 14,000 years, is made with a traditional starter, making a comeback in home baking. Bakers will submit two full loaves: one for tasting and one for raffle. Attendees can sample the loaves and enjoy cheese boards, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks. Raffle tickets (cash only) will offer chances to win loaves and other prizes. Judges include experts from Bizalion's Fine Foods, Berkshire Mountain Bakery, and Found Bread, while live music by the Michael Junkins Duo adds to the atmosphere. This event, supported by local businesses, is organized by Evelyn Battaglia and Sherri Gorelick. All proceeds benefit Dewey Hall, a historic venue founded in 1887 by The Sheffield Friendly Union.
