Frenchy and the Punk is French-born singer and percussionist Samantha Stephenson and American hardcore punk veteran guitarist Scott Helland, and are based in the Hudson Valley. Helland formerly played with Deep Wound (with J Mascis and Lou Barlow of Dinosaur Jr.). The Dust Bowl Faeries repertoire of songs draw inspiration from circus songs, murder ballads and Eastern European folk music. The band was founded by Ryder Cooley (faerie queen) and include Jon B. Woodin (rocket faerie), Liz LoGiudice (river faerie), Andrew Stein (time faerie), and Rubie LaRue (feisty faerie).
