Pauline Oliveros was a legendary composer, teacher, and musician, whose connection to the capital region was well-established...please join us at the Albany Public Library on Jan 11th as we offer up a variety of sounds in her honor. Andrea Williams is a member of the Deep Listening Institute; Matt Weston is a percussionist and electronic musician equally at home in the worlds of noise and free jazz; Buttfort is a drone trio that features Cave Music headman Patrick Stephenson; Parashi is an electronic free noise project, utilizing tapes, synthesizer, and various objects. All of us who will perform at this event owe a debt to the work and musical philosophy of Pauline Oliveros, either as students or as listeners. This show will start early and on time.
