In this broadcast, Sheila Silver will be in the studio, and Stephen Kitsakos will join by phone, to discuss the opera, "A Thousand Splendid Suns," adapted from Khaled Hosseini’s novel set in Afghanistan from the mid-1970s to the present day. Silver is the opera's composer, and Kitsakos is the librettist. A workshop performance of Act II of the opera will be presented at the Hudson Area Library on November 18.
