In this special broadcast, an excerpt from a panel presentation on Hispanics and the Elections held at Bard College October 5, 2016. A record 27.3 million Hispanics are eligible to vote in 2016, and almost 12 million of them are millenials. Will they actually turn out and vote in record numbers as well? How are local organizers seeing the ever-polarizing elections to compel Latinos to vote? What can we learn from history and Latinos' civic and political participation?

Panelists include Professor Jonathan Becker, director of Bard Center for Civic Engagement, Associate Professor of Political Studies and Director of Globalization and International Studies; Laura Garcia, Racial Justice Program Manager for YWCA Orange County and founder of Dreamers with No Borders; Sandra Oxford, President of the Sullivan County Branch of the NAACP and member of the NYS Working Families Party Committee; and Milagros Lecuona, Councilwoman of the City of White Plains. The panel was moderated by Mariel Fiori, Co-Host of Qué Cocinaré Hoy, and Editor of La Voz magazine.
