Martin Roby sent us this raw footage of Stuyvesant's William Pfaum confronting the Columbia County Board of Supervisors on the evening of March 9 regarding an ethics complaint he's made to the entire Board relating to what he has termed "punitive actions" taken against him by his town supervisor, Valerie Bertram, who chairs the Columbia County Ethics Board. Bertram has denied all Pfaum's charges... but also denied all of the man's FOIL requests for documentations regarding her actions, and Stuyvesant's, against him. As can be seen and heard, the Board of Supervisors again denied Pfaum his chance to make a statement. Pfaum, who owns a business in Stuyvesant that's facing zoning problems he believes are not justified, was told that he was trying to make his point in the wrong context, at the wrong time, by trying to make a statement in the middle of a public hearing on another subject. In other business, the board noted that it will start to publicize its resolutions agenda online before each meeting. In normal business, a presentation was heard from the county Soil & Water Agency, and pay for last November's election commissioners was finally approved. Finally, there was much discussion about the dangers this past winter's storms have put on the county's infrastructure, from roads and bridges to dams protecting local reservoirs.
