Legislature Chairman Speenburgh hospitalized

Kyle Adams is reporting in The Daily Mail Greene County Legislature Chairman Wayne Speenburgh was hospitalized Wed., Dec. 18, with an undisclosed illness. According to Greene County Administrator Shaun Groden, Speenburgh was admitted to the emergency room at Albany Medical Center Tuesday morning. Groden said Speenburgh, 68, is conscious and alert, but little else is known about the nature of the illness or how long Speenburgh will remain in the hospital. The legislature's final meeting of 2013, held Wednesday, was chaired by Majority Leader Kevin Lewis of Greenville. The next meeting of the full legislature is scheduled for Jan. 8.
