Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Monday

The National Weather Service in Albany extended a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Albany County, North Central Columbia County and Southwestern Rensselaer County and now extended to North Eastern Greene County until 4:45 p.m., July 23. At 2:26 p.m. EDT the National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-sized hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. Heavy rain, lightning, and thunder have been spotted throughout the northern area of WGXC's radio coverage area.
UPDATE: The storm knocked power out in part's of Cairo, including where WGXC's transmitting tower is located. WGXC returned on air around 9 p.m.
UPDATE: Another Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued through 12:15 a.m. for parts of NE Columbia County, NW through Rensselear County, through the NE Albany County.
