Greene County tests emergency radio

The Daily Mail reports that ham radio operators across the United States participated in a nationwide Amateur Radio Simulated Emergency Test (SET). Sat. Oct. 5. In Greene County, the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL)-sponsored event lets responders know what parts of their network are working. This Simulated Emergency Test Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. until noon practiced with a Winter Tropical Storm (Nor’easter) situation. Participants included Columbia Memorial Hospital, Kaaterskill Care Nursing Home, Greene County Emergency Services, the Cairo Fire House, Greene County EMS, and others.
