Greene County tests emergency radio

The Daily Mail reports that ham radio operators across the United States participated in a nationwide Amateur Radio Simulated Emergency Test (SET). Sat. Oct. 5. In Greene County, the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL)-sponsored event lets responders know what parts of their network are working. This Simulated Emergency Test Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. until noon practiced with a Winter Tropical Storm (Nor’easter) situation. Participants included Columbia Memorial Hospital, Kaaterskill Care Nursing Home, Greene County Emergency Services, the Cairo Fire House, Greene County EMS, and others. The audio stream was broadcast live on Broadcastify at http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/12635 and on 147.150 Mhz. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
