Jeff Alexander in the Register-Star reports that Kinderhook Republican Supervisor Patrick Grattan was sworn in as Chairman of the Columbia County Board of Supervisors on Thu., Jan., 5 in Hudson. Grattan replaced Roy Brown (R-Germantown), who did not seek the chairmanship. Grattan said he would not be using a county-owned vehicle, despite that traditional custom among board chairmen of using county vehicles. He also says he will not use a county-owned cell phone, which may save the county one cell phone plan, but means his own cell phone records could be subject to freedom of information requests, if he uses it for county business.
