Organizer: Hudson River Fest on hold till 2015

Mar 13, 2014 7:11 am
John Mason is reporting in the Register Star plans for a paid-admission music festival the first weekend of August at Hudson’s waterfront, known as the Hudson River Fest, have been postponed until 2015, according to organizer Chad Weckler. However, the free Hudson Music Festival, slated for August 8 to 10, is still in the works. The Hudson Music Festival has been an annual event since 2011, under the guidance of Weckler and Rob Johansen. When Weckler’s idea for the paid event came up at a recent public meeting, concerns were raised about the possibility of shutting down Ferry Street and charging admission in a city park, and the work the festival would entail in a short period of time. Weckler told Mason in an email, “A lot of activity has been going on, vast majority very positive, but I've decided to hold off 2014 plans till 2015.” Ed. Note: Chad Weckler is a WGXC programmer.
