Olana receives grant to support public programming

Mar 23, 2021 2:45 pm

The Daily Freeman is reporting the Olana Partnership has received a two-year grant to sustain four key areas of public programming at the Olana State Historic Site in Greenport. Specifically, K-12 in-person and virtual school visits; the Panorama Summer Learning Program for Youth; Young at HeART creative aging program for adults over 55; and a new internship and work-development program. The partnership said Olana's school field trip program has been particularly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, the partnership offered live virtual field trips to provide opportunities for students and teachers to incorporate Olana’s educational resources remotely. The partnership intends to use the new grant money to expand in-person and virtual field trips for local classes at no cost. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
