Fortis-CH Energy merger decision expected today

William J. Kemble reports in the Daily Freeman a decision about Fortis Inc.’s proposed $1.5 billion takeover of CH Energy Group could come today. The state Public Service Commission will meet this morning to review opinions for and against the deal. The Commission has final say over the transaction. A commission spokeswoman confirmed earlier this week the takeover vote would be taken Thursday. The Canada-based Fortis, first proposed buying CH Energy, the parent company of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp., in early 2012. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
