The Federal Communications Commission has proposed several changes to AM radio, which has fallen to just 15 percent of radio listenership in recent years.

Three hours of shortwave radio-oriented programming, starting with solar weather, news on meteor showers and ham radio, and other reports. Other reports include:

Tune in for this special broadcast celebrating the launch of Douglas Kahn's new book Earth Sound Earth Signal (UC Press 2013.) The book explores aelectrosonic and natural electromagnetic sounds from the nineteenth century to the present, centered around the work of composer Alvin Lucier.

Recorded at Eyebeam Storefront in New York City on October 17, 2013, a panel of artists and scientists including Brian Dewan, David First, Annea Lockwood, Paul D. Miller, and others respond to the book and pose questions to the author, Douglas Kahn. The panel is introduced by Galen Joseph-Hunter, Executive Director of Wave Farm. Following the discussion, Daniel Neumann (CT-SWaM) presents a multi-channel audio performance Tectonics of Absence by Suzanne Thorpe and Tristan Shepard.
