Temporary Columbia Co. Courthouse evacuated

The Register Star is reporting the temporary Columbia County Courthouse in Claverack was evaluated as the result of a bomb threat this morning. Police have reported the building is clear. It was searched by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and state police K-9 units. Authorities reported a caller claimed that an explosive device was placed outside the building, possibly in a dumpster. The operations of the Columbia County Courts were relocated to the former Claverack School earlier this year to accommodate the renovation of the courthouse building in Hudson.
