Mar 19, 2013 7:39 am
Kyle Adams reports in the Register Star the availability of on-campus housing for Columbia-Greene County Community College students is not a possibility anytime soon. The school's board of trustees were told Mon., Mar. 18, given the current low demand, the idea was economically impractical. President James Campion said based on what was learned from a recent feasibility study, Columbia-Greene could now reasonably support a 100-bed housing unit. But a unit that size would not generate enough initial revenue to support quality construction. The school's current enrollment is about 2,100 students; half attend full time. Campion said good material came out of the study that will help the board move forward, even if it is not in the direction of on-campus housing. Read the full story in the Register Star.
