Amanda Purcell reports for Columbia-Greene Media that Hudson's Downtown Revitilization Initiative committee released their list of projects they'd like to see get part of the $10 million grant from the state on March 15. The list includes 21 projects that would cost $53,505,883, and the committee is requesting Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office give the projects $13,587,040. The projects were supposed to focus on the blocks in the city nearest to the Hudson River, but at least one is labeled "citywide." Seven of the projects are directly part of the waterfront, while nine claim to provide employment opportunities, and six address transportation issues. There is a request for a a pedestrian pier on the waterfront. A proposal for Basilica Industries, would create a public green space, a new movie theater, prep kitchen, and an audio-video studio at the large venue. Three projects from the Galvan Foundation were removed after the DRI committee’s March 1 meeting. Read the full story at HudsonValley360.com.
