Matt Bua and Laura Nancy Anderson from the new Catamount People's Museum in Catskill have been collecting historical artifacts and recordings to share, and recently interviewed Charles B. Swain, a minority Greene County historian (pictured at Catamount Museum), about Catskill history over the last 500 years. Charles B. Swain is the minorities' historian for Greene County. His was the first such appointment in the United States. He is the author of several books: "African-Americans in Early New York State," "Black Cowboys, Buffalo Soldiers & Black Pioneers of the American West," and "Black Population From Greene County From 1748."
