Ariel Zangla is reporting in the Daily Freeman the Greene County Legislature Wed., Nov. 21, adopted a $103.04 million budget for 2014. The spending plan will require an increases in the county’s overall tax levy by 5.76 percent, within the state’s property tax cap. The budget was adopted on a vote of 11-3. "No" votes were cast by Catskill legislators Vincent Seeley, Joseph Kozloski and Kevin Lennon. Kozloski and Lennon are Democrats; Seeley is a Republican who caucuses with the Democrats. Seeley and Kozloski said they voted against the budget because they felt the levy increase was too high. Legislature Chairman Wayne Speenburgh said he had asked for input from members during the budgeting process. He said he received no input from those who voted against the spending plan.
