Former school to become arts center

Barbara Reina reports in the Register Star the former Martin Van Buren Elementary School in Kinderhook is now officially defined a cultural facility. The new owner said he plans to develop the building into a multi-purpose art institution. He intends it to function as a private art gallery, museum, art storage facility, library and visual art research center. The next step in the building's transformation will be for the Kinderhook Planning Board to grant a special use permit and site plan approval. Read the full story in the Register Star.
