SUNY Poly student succumbs to injuries

Amanda Purcell is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media the Hudson community is mourning the loss of Fardush Sultana, who died April 17, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica. Sultana, 20, a junior at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, suffered an unexplained head injury the evening of April 8. The incident remains under investigation by state and university police. “Words can’t express the loss of such an untimely death,” family friend Abdus Miah said. Sultana graduated from Hudson High School in 2016. She was a member of the robotics team that competed in a state championship and she ran cross-country. Sultana is the daughter of Parveen Ahster and Abdul Bashar, and has two sisters, Farzana and Fariah. She was studying civil engineering.
